Ros Weadman, Principal of Marcomms Australia and GovComm, is a multiple award-winning PR and marketing professional with more than 30 years’ experience. She is renowned for combining big picture strategic thinking with meticulous execution in delivering strategic communications, marketing, engagement and advocacy services.
Ros has a deep knowledge and understanding of community issues and the role of government, having worked in communications management within local government for 16 years, as a communications advisor in the state government for over a decade, and as a consultant / trainer to the public sector for over seven years. Ros has been a trusted advisor to mayors and executives during periods of unprecedented change and growth, in driving adoption of digital technologies, championing community engagement and advancing advocacy priorities. Ros has exceptional experience in media and issues management, having led crisis communications teams responding to some of Australia’s highest profile incidents and issues, including the Black Saturday fires (2009), Cranbourne Methane Gas crisis (2008), Victorian gas crisis (1998) and Springvale salmonella outbreak (1997).
Ros is tertiary qualified in professional communication, business management, psychology and secondary education, and accredited with the International Association for Public Participation (IAP2).
Ros is a Fellow of the Public Relations Institute of Australia.
